25. The adjectives and noun endings

The general rule is that when there is an adjective before a noun, like here:

hyvä lääkäri         good doctor

iso talo                big house

kylmä kala            cold fish

huono kynä            bad pen

and the noun gets an ending, whether it's the genitive ending -N, or the plural ending -T, or the location endings -SSA/SSÄ, -STA/STÄ, and double vowel +N, 

the adjective gets the same ending. 

Of course, whether the ending has Ä with dots or A without dots, depends on the vowels of the adjective.

hyvän lääkärin    of the good doctor

ison talon            of the big house

kylmän kalan        of the cold fish

huonon kynän         of the bad pen

hyvät lääkärit        the good doctors

isot talot                the big houses

kylmät kalat            the cold fish

huonot kynät            the bad pencils

hyvässä lääkärissä

isossa talossa

kylmässä kalassa

huonossa kynässä

hyvästä lääkäristä

isosta talosta

kylmästä kalasta

huonosta kynästä

hyvään lääkäriin

isoon taloon

kylmään kalaan

huonoon kynään
